Round Block or Lateral Mammoplasty Surgery

Hi

I was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer in July and I'm due to have a lumpectomy end of this week.  Been a lot to take in and not really sure it's sunk in yet.  In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't seem important but I'm still trying to decide the type of surgery as I've been given the option of Round Block surgery or Lateral Mammoplasty Surgery.  Although more scarring to the side with the lateral option they have said the surgery is easier for them to do which I'm thinking is maybe the way to go

Just wondering what options others have chosen and the results afterwards

Thanks

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and it's natural to want to talk to others with a similar diagnosis and treatment path..

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask your question, share experiences and get support from others with the same or similar diagnosis.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
