Hello everyone
So, i am new one here and sorry if i made some mistake...
My son has been detected this type of leukemia. We are from North Macedonia, and this type is very rare here. Doctors said it is diagnosed in one patient or not at all in one year, here in North Macedonia. But they told us that they have a protocol for treatment and they are ready to help.
They started to give him the therapy (Three doses of Idarubicin and capsules ATRA) and after the Induction phase we were expecting 0 in the result of the myelogram, but it was 0,9. I don't know if this is good result after the first phase.
Now we are in the second phase and the therapy is with the same capsules and 6 doses of Ara-c and Daunorubicin two doses.
I wanted to know if this is the correct therapy and what does the result of 0,9 means?
Hi OakTree and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your son has recently been diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia and it's natural to want to talk to others with a similar diagnosis.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the leukaemia group which is a great places to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others with this type of cancer. I've had a look in the group and can see that someone else with this type of leukaemia has posted recently.
Clicking on the link I've created will take you to the group where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your son's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
