I have a partner and two kids one the age of 12 and one at only 2 I am struggling to carry on working as it is a new buisness anyway which was hard enough but now I have hit a brick wall and have no income or money to support my family does anyone have any ideas at all ? Sorry if my gramma isn’t great my first language is welsh

Kind regards

Thomas

  • Hi Thomas  and welcome to the Online Community although I am sorry to see you joining us and to hear about the challenges you are having.

A cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time especially when it comes to employment and finances.

Could I recommend you call the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week where you can talk with our benefits/financial guidance team as they will be able to help you navigate this difficult time.

My name is Mike and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare, incurable Low Grade skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so I understand this journey rather well..

There are over 60 types and subtypes of Lymphoma so we can’t have a group for every type but these are our main Lymphoma groups below.

    Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    Follicular Lymphoma

    Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

    Mantel Cell Lymphoma

    T-cell lymphomas

    CLL, SLL, HCL

If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) link I have created above. Then once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go.

I will keep an eye open for you but if you are not sure get back to me on this post and I will help you out further.

  • Hi again , it does sound as though you have a lot to deal with at the moment…... but I care so you are not alone in this.

The first thing you must do is call the Macmillan Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week where you will be able to talk with our support teams including our benefits/financial team as they will be able to help you navigate this difficult time.

The other place you can get support is by joining the best group for your type of Lymphoma - just follow the instructions in my first reply or do tell me the exact type of Lymphoma you have. It’s important to know that on the whole Lymphoma is very treatable with good results so do not give up hope.

I will always be in this thread as well,

    Mike (Thehighlander)
