My husband has just been diagnosed with lung cancer, he has a mass the size of a golf ball on his left lung but gone into his bones, pelvic and 3 of his vertebrae and possibly his shoulder blades. He is in a lot of pain. We had his biopsy on Thursday so now we have to wait to find out what type of cancer it is. I am so scared that this is an aggressive cancer as in his bones and this has happened all so quickly, he started to feel unwell mid June and then caught Covid which is how they caught the cancer on a CT scan. He didn’t have this shadow in March as he had a CT scan then so I hope this means we have caught it early. I am beyond terrified and trying to stay strong and positive for my darling husband. I want to take it out of him and put it in me , all the uncertainty is making me so anxious. I know I have to stay strong but am struggling already and we have only just begun.
Hi Rustybucket and welcome to the Online Community although I am sorry to hear about your husbands diagnosis.
A cancer diagnosis in the family can be such a stressful and challenging time but I do hope you will find the community a safe place to get support and ask your questions.
The Community has various support groups (discussion rooms) so can I suggest you consider joining our supportive Lung Cancer and Bone, secondary cancer groups. These are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
When it comes to the practical and emotional challenges of supporting someone you may also benefit from joining our general Family and friends and Carers only groups where you will connect with others in the same position.
If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) links I have created above. Then once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go. You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.
