Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your husband has gone downhill very fast and it's not surprising that you don't know what to say or do. When you say that you cannot get an appointment with your husband's doctor until next Monday, do you mean his GP or his hospital consultant? If the former, I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you contact his CNS (cancer nurse specialist), also known as a key worker, or his consultant to let them know how you husband is.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend a few for you to join where you can ask questions and share experiences around treatment, etc. As I'm not sure from your post if the cancers you mention are primary or secondary I'm going to provide links to cover all eventualities:
lung cancer group
secondary lung cancer group
oesophageal (gullet) cancer group
brain cancer group
secondary brain cancer group
liver cancer group
secondary liver cancer group
To join just click on the relevant links and then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Another group that I think you'd benefit from joining is the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries and emotions with others who are looking after a loved one with cancer. Again, clicking on the link I've created will take you to that group.
When you feel up to it ,it would be great if you could pop something about about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
