Hello guys , wondering if any one could help here . I’ve been awarded pip claim started on 7th April 2022.
claim has been approved but they are saying the condition only effected me from when I started my chemo ! Which is 30 th may 2022!. There fore im not to receive any payment untill 30 th of august . Is this right I was thought pip was paid from date claim made ? Am I wrong as anyone ever came across this before

Hi Viktor18 and welcome to the community. When I was receiving PIP the award was indeed backdated to the date I applied but I don’t know all the rules.
You may want to call the Macmillan Support Line open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 where you can talk with our benefits/financial guidance team. We also have our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.
Yes, this is why you need to a benefits adviser as they will be able to give you clear information and what to do when you appeal this.
