I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018. I went to Germany for NanoKnife treatment. The treatment was successful. My PSA is below 1 and relatively stable. I have ongoing urinary frequency and urgency and a small amount of incontinence. The frequency and urgency is what took me to my doctor in the first place, and I still have that. It is so distressing that I now find it almost impossible to be out and about. This is also having a severe negative impact on my relationship. My wife likes to be out and about doing things, going places, going on holidays. I just want to stay at home. I find travelling a challenge. There must be something I can do about it!! I fully appreciate that there will be a huge element of this that is psychological but I don’t know where to turn to for help.
Hi and a welcome to the Online Community although I am so sorry to see you joining us and to hear about your diagnoses and ongoing challenges.
A cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but when it comes to support there is nothing better than talking with others who are in the same position.
The Community has various support groups (discussion rooms) so can I recommend that you consider joining our supportive Prostate cancer group. This is a safe place to talk to others who may have a similar experience, to ask questions and get support.
If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green (Bold) link I have created above. Then once the group page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go. You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.
