Hi Everyone,  I am new to this community.  I was diagnosed and had treatment for breast cancer 10 years ago.  Everything was fine, I had the cancer removed, had quite extensive radiotherapy for three weeks and then tamoxifen for five years.  All my mammograms have been fine since then.  However, ever since the radiotherapy I have experienced pain in my ribs around the area, and my breast.  I have got used to just getting on with it, but just lately the pain seems to have been a bit more pronounced and I can feel it in my elbow??  Just not sure if I should continue to just get on with it or start to feel worried?  Thank you for listening and any advice would be lovely.  Carol x

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently noticed an increase in pain and I know how worrying finding something when you've had a previous cancer diagnosis can be.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group which is a great places to ask your questions, share experiences and get support from others with this type of cancer.

Clicking on the link I've created will take you to the group where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

  • Hi. Please go and see your doctor or get in touch with your oncologist department nothing is silly if you are worried. You and your body know. Good luck.
