New to the group bowel resection in may waiting for chemo hope to pick up some tips here on what to expect

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

As you know, the online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the bowel cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others with this type of cancer.

When you feel ready to post there just click on the link I've created and then start a new  post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

  • Me too. I had a right hemicolectomy in May after caecal cancer was diagnosed by colonoscopy following a bowel screen. Seeing the oncologist re adjuvant chemo on Thursday, 6 weeks after surgery. Very scared as I was originally told the cancer hadn't spread and now after a 10-week wait for surgery it's  stage 3 and might be in the blood vessels surrounding the bowel. Everything is taking so long and I always feel I'm at the back of the queue.
