Hi, my husband has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is on his 2nd dose of chemotherapy. He seems to be coping with it quite well even though the outlook isn't that good. I'm sorry to say its me that isn't coping well at all for which I feel very guilty about as its him that needs looking after not me.

I have had several anxiety issues palpitations, chest pain, dizziness and nausea to name but a few. Which has resulted in trips to the hospital.

I'm usually a very positive person but at the moment all I seem to do is cry at the slightest thing. Feeling very selfish right now. Just want to be well to look after him. The doctor said that I needed to talk to someone about it and share my feelings so that is why I'm here today.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your husband has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and it's perfectly natural for you to feel anxious about the situation.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the carers only group where you can talk to others about how they cope.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it it would be good if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
