Can anyone help. My son is 15 months since he finished chemo he’s currently buying a house (so exciting) but unfortunately a larger company have refused to cover him for life/critical cover due to his cancer diagnosis in 2020 which was non Hodgkin large cell lymphoma stage 4. He’s in remission living well keeping great but this frustrates me so looking for advise on where we can look for alternatives

many thanks Pauline

  • Hi  and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your son’s Lymphoma journey.

I am Mike and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so have been on this journey rather a long time so understand the problems.

When I was diagnosed I had life insurance for my mortgage but it ran out when my house was paid…… that was over 10 years ago and the only insurance I can get is these over 59s plans that are not much use.

You may want to put your question to Financial Guides team in our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

You may want to join our General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma group and copy and paste your question in the group to see if anyone has been able to achieve getting life cover.
