HI, I was diagnosed with cancer 10 days ago and feel rather alone. I haven't told my grown up children as I don't want the grandchildren to know until after the A levels have finished.
Although I have had a biopsy which confirmed it the consultant said I need a full body scan. The appointment came through for the 10th July, which seems so far away. this really worries me as the cancer which is grade 2 could be growing!! Should I be worried or is the timing normal? the consultant said she needed to check for any other signs. I would appreciate any thoughts on these.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and, having been diagnosed with the same type of cancer myself nearly 3 months ago, I know what a difficult time this will be for the whole family.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others with the same type of cancer.
To join just click on the link I've created which will take you directly there. You can then join and post in the same way as you did here and also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could update your profile with your diagnosis and treatment so far as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile' and, if you're not sure what to write, you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Thank you so much for your reply. I think I have joined the breast cancer group, but I am just finding my way (navigating) around the website. Also, I wasn't sure what to put in my profile so that is helpful too.
How do I check if I am in the breast cancer group?
Thank you so much for your help.

Hi
To check to see what groups you're a member of click on your profile name and then 'groups'. This will list all the groups that you have joined. I've just had a look and you've not joined the breast cancer group yet.
To join the group click on the link I provided in my previous reply, then either click on 'join' under the heading 'group tools' or click the banner that appears at the bottom of the page which will say something like 'breast cancer group requires membership for participation - click to join'.

Many thanks, I am now a member of the breast cancer group!! Will the breast cancer group see my first question at the top of this page or do I somehow copy it to them?
Each group is separate so you'll need to start a new post in the breast cancer group and either re-type what you wrote here or copy and paste it into your new post.

Another thank you. I am fairly computer literate but not so familiar with using online chat groups.
