Hello,

This is my first post here.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November 2021 (first diagnosis was in August 2004 when I had a lumpectomy with four weeks of radiotherapy).   This time sadly I lost my breast to a mastectomy but had a reconstruction at the same time as the mastectomy.   I wonder if there is someone like me who had gone through a mastectomy only to be left with two completely different size breasts a G and a D......

I am due to have the lopsidedness operated on but personally I want a mastectomy not a reduction and uplift as my surgeon suggests.

Does anyone else have experience of conflict of interest with their surgeon?

Looking forward to some advice / support!

Thank you

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask your question, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
