Jumping the Gun

Back in 2018 my brother passed away from prostrate cancer, I was with him at the end  and throughout his gruelling treatment. The end when it came was not 'easy'. One year later my friend and lover died with Leukaemia, She was only 51 years old. Just one hour ago my doctors rang with the information that my last PSA test (25th May) was above 4.0.

I know I'm probably jumping the gun but after the above experiences I'm in a state of growing anxieties about these PSA results. I now have to wait nearly two weeks for a DRE at my GPs. due to a shortage of male doctors appointments. I do however tick most of the boxes for symptoms' for prostrate cancer and BPH. Comments welcome.

This is my first posting.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm very sorry to read that two people who ere very close to you have recently died from cancer so it's natural that you would worry that this is may be what is causing your symptoms.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the prostate cancer group, not because I think you have this, but because it's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. Clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
