Hello, My partner of 16yrs was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in Sept of last year and was give a prognosis of 9-12 months, he also has a tumour filling the whole of his left kidney. Six cycles of Chemo done, came away with a positive scan that everything had shrunk. Went away for 3 months,  had a scan, they have all grown now and  has spread to his liver First session of immunotherapy stared last week. He tolerated the chemo very well with little or no side effects, just wondering what people's other experiences of all of the above are. Thanks in advance for any response x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It sounds like your partner has been going through a lot since he was diagnosed last year but it's great that he's tolerated the treatment well with few side effects.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you also join and post in the lung cancer and kidney cancer groups as they are great places to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the links I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your partner's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
