just been diagnosed today with a cancerous tumour in my throat/neck, treatment to be discussed monday hopefully, came home from work with a lump in my neck and throat and decedied to go to the doctors, was lucky and got a quick referral.

came to hospital last sunday after throwing up a LOT of blood and by that night i had a traceotemy and biopsy, been in hospital since then unable to speak, eat or drink.

Got the news just after one today its definatly cancer.

not quite sure how to feel at the moment, my sister was diagnosed at my age and died two years later, loads of people saying "dont worry it will be fine" mixtures of anger and sadness at he moment.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It sounds like your life has been a whirlwind just recently and it's no wonder that you're feeling as you do.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join and post in the head and neck cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
