Hi,

From having depression and telling a GP I was tired things have snowballed over the last few months.

1. First blood test and blood pressure test was done and I was put onto Vitamin D.

2. Further blood pressure and bloods. Put onto blood pressure meds

3. Further blood test. Called into see GP as blood tests abnormal

4. Sent for ultrasound on liver, kidneys

5. Shown as having a gallstones

6. Sent for CT scan which showed several things including lumps in my left breast and extensive skeletal lesions

7. Mammograms, ultrasound and 2 types of biopsy taken (needle and punch)

8. Bone scan done

9. Told I was a complex case, but have grade 2 lobular breast cancer. Also that I would be sent for an MRI breast scan. But as the CT scan and Bone scan were not showing the same this was not really a priority, I think but to be honest couldn't take it all in.

10. Called and after a panel of doctors have discussed my case, now have to go for a spine MRI scan.

Everytime I go to see the doctors or get a phone call things seem to be getting worse.

I had my CT scan on 13th April 2022 and was told I had invasive lobular breast cancer on Friday 20th May 2022.

I am so depressed and worried. It feels that I am on a runaway train with a very bad outcome.

Is all this normal in all these scans etc?

Has anyone gone through the same and If so what happened to you next?

Very upset and struggling to cope.

Thanks

  • Hi snuggles10 I am sorry you are going through this. I am waiting on final diagnosis as I have breast cancer but they weren't sure which .mine could be a sarcoma a phylode tumour or metaplastic carcinoma..they have referred me to royal Marsden for 2nd opinion.i too have had MRI on my boobs a bone scan and cat scan but as yet waiting on results. My appointment is friday27th may so hopefully know then I think they do these tests to check to see if it's anywhere else. The waiting and not knowing is the worst .but it is better that they know and you know what is going on so you get the right treatment. I hope you find out soon . Just know that you are not on this journey alone. Our cancers may be different but we all have those feelings and they are normal too have .take care x

I should be getting an another appointment with an oncologist this week and a MRI scan on the spine n the next 7 days. After that a MRI breast scan.

Hopefully I will find out what I am facing, treatments etc.soon.

Take care and again Thank you for replying x

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Online Community although I am so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. A cancer diagnosis can be so stressful and challenging but I do hope you find the community a safe place to get support and ask your questions.

The New to Community area is like our reception desk where we can signpost you to our various cancer support groups and other services so can I recommend that you consider joining our supportive Breast cancer group. You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using) and you are ready to go.

You could copy and paste the text from this post into your new post and as always you can reply to existing ‘Discussions’ by click [reply].
