I have just joined. My mum was diagnosed with lymphoma of CNS last year. She has come through a hefty chemotherapy regime but has been left with several effects of the lymphoma on her body. The most significant one is bowel incontinence. Has anyone else suffered with this? Were there any successful treatment options? Was a colostomy an option ? Many thanks
Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups. I don’t have CNS Lymphoma but I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare, incurable type of Skin NHL Stage 4a so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I understand the challenges of this journey well.
So sorry to hear about your mum's journey and unfortunately Bowel Problems do happen due to the strength of the treatments used.
The New to Community area is like our reception desk where we can signpost you to our various cancer support groups and other services so can I recommend that you consider joining our supportive Non-Hodgkin lymphoma group. This will be a safe place to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
