My mum started chemo in March and then had a heart attack on Easter Monday so chemo is paused. Shes much perkier now shes revovering from the heart op but she doesn't have an allocated nurse from Ipswich hospital. Should she have one and how would she go about progressing this.
Hello . Prior to Covid, most cancer patients were allocated a CNS (Cancer/Clinical Nurse Specialist) with a dedicated contact number. This was usually the first point of call for any concerns. Unfortunately, many of these nurses were redirected to Covid duties, so fewer of them around at the moment. Your Mum's GP could give her a referral to Macmillan to see if hey can help. You could also call the Mac helpline on 0808 808 0000 to see what Mum could be entitled to. It is a free service and you should find them helpful. Best wishes.
