In 2019 my son was diagnosed with rectal cancer stage 3c ( I think ). He had radiotherapy, resection, stoma, chemo ( 4 months) and reversal with clear scans and low CEA since. But I read the mortality stats and I just worry all the time. He’s in his 30’s and I’m just scared he’s going to die.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
It's natural to be scared when someone you love has had a cancer diagnosis but it sounds like great news that your son's scans have been clear since his treatment for bowel cancer.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join either the carers only group, if you are your son's carer, or the family and friends group if you're not his carer. Both groups are safe and supportive places to discuss your worries and emotions with others who have a loved one living with cancer.
To go to the relevant group, click on the appropriate link and then join in the same way as you did here. You can then start a new post and join in with existing conversations.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
