Hi, I am new to this group. I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer March 2021. I had tumour removed in May 2021 and stoma fitted. I also had some cancer spots on my liver so had surgery for this in November 2021. I have had chemo after both surgeries, which has been tough. Have just finished chemo and waiting for scan to check how everything has gone

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read about your diagnosis and I'll be keeping everything crossed for a clear scan.

The online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the bowel cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from other others with the same type of cancer. When you feel ready to post there just click on the link I've created which will take you straight there. You can then start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

  • Hi  and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read about your mum's diagnosis and that you're worried about what care she'll receive when she leaves hospital.

I can't help with that question but I can see that you've joined the carers only group and I'm sure the other members of that group will be happy to share their experiences with you. Clicking on the link I've created will take you to the group where you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you feel up to it, it would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway.
