I was rushed to hospital on 12 Feb this year with severe stomach pains, had emergency surgery, given a stoma and told it was cancer.
This is my 3rd cancer. I've already had breast and skin cancer and apparently none are linked.
I'm due to start chemo on 9 May (delayed due to wound infection)
Not had chemo before, any helpful tips to get me through it would be appreciated. Thanks x
Hi Brownie and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that this is the third time you've been diagnosed with cancer but you've joined the right community to help you through it.
The online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've already joined the bowel cancer group which is a great place to ask your question about chemotherapy, share experiences and get support from other others with the same type of cancer.
When you feel ready to post there just click on the link I've created and then start a new post in the same way as you did here.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
Hi latchbrook, thanks for making me feel welcome. I'll definitely update my profile and have a good look around the site. Xx
Oh Brownie, life can be so unfair. I'm so very sorry you are facing cancer treatment for a third time. I cannot advise you personally, as I am just a carer, but I'm sure you will soon get lots of advice from some of the truly lovely people on this forum.
I just wanted to reach out to you and send you lots of love xxx
