Hi everyone, not really sure what to expect from this post. I live on my own and haven't had anyone to talk to since having biopsies done on my gums and tongue beginning of April. 3 years ago I had a biopsy which was precancerous and have had follow up appointments since, apart from when in lockdown. I know my condition has worsened as originally it was just white patches on my gum. Now it has spread and I have also had a very painful ulcer under my tongue for the past 3 mths. My speech has also changed and my tongue seems to have a mind of its own. By the end of the day my neck has swollen. I have had a scan on my neck and was told that the swelling is being caused from my mouth. It has been over 2 weeks since biopsies now without results. Is this a good sign? I am going out of my mind without anyone to talk to.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
It sounds like you've been through a great deal and I can't begin to imagine how difficult this must be to deal with on your own. However, you've joined the right community to connect with others who will understand what you're going through.
The online community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've already joined and posted in the head and neck cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from other others with the same type of cancer. I'm sure you'll get replies from the other members of that group soon.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Thank you for your reply. I haven't yet had a diagnosis as anxiously waiting on results so uable to put anything on my profile.
Hi
Sorry, I should have worded that better and said 'could you pop something about your symptoms and tests to date into your profile'. However, if you'd rather wait until you know what you're dealing with that's fine
