Hi all

I have recently been diagnosed with malignant melanoma of the lymph nodes and been told that surgery not an option due to the depth of the cancer and likely treatment will be immunotherapy.

I say "likely" as 2 months since diagnosis, still no idea what stage it is and my appointment with oncology to discuss all this isn't for another 2 weeks. Frustrated to say the least as first went to the doc's in August last year about this.....! is this normal??

Still feels surreal and hasn't yet sunk in, suppose until I know exactly what is going on then it won't feel real!

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnoses with melanoma that needs treatment with immunotherapy. I was diagnosed with melanoma 5 years ago but was fortunate only to need a WLE.

I can see that you've found and joined the melanoma group where you'll find lots of others who are having immunotherapy and is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

When you feel ready to post there clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there. You can then start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
