Hi,
On the 17th Feb my husband was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer....I'm new here and as we have no family or friends around to support us I'm reaching out and hoping to find people to talk to, this has been the hardest time for both of us and feeling helpless, useless, exhausted and terrified is becoming the norm. I hope to be able to get some comfort in this group.
I thought I / we both could deal with this but it's become clear to me that I we need support...some light at the end of this tunnel.
I thank you for your time in reading this.

Hi Silke and welcome to our community though sorry to hear about your husband.
The emotions you describe are very common If we look at Your feelings when someone has cancer I am sure there is lots we all recognize.
There are a couple of groups here that focus more on supporting those around the person with cancer - Carers Only - Discussion Forum where we are all carers and Family and friends - Discussion Forum which is a more open group. If you introduce yourself on one of those there will be many people who can share their support journey with you.
If you might find speaking to someone easier remember the helpline here is for everyone - I have certainly cried my heart out there in the past and if you might like to see someone it might help to use our In your area tool to find support local to you.
One final home from home is The Room - the place to vent and slam the door as you leave.
Welcome - I hope you find some support here as I know I do.
<<hugs>>
Steve
OMG, Silke, my heart goes out to you both. I'm so very sorry you are going through this. I can't imagine how you must be feeling. I am currently caring for my partner, who has myeloma, and want you to know that I'm here for you whenever you need someone to talk to. Lots of love to both of you

HI Penny
Thank you so much, I really appreciate your response and your kindness, you must also be going through a very trying time and the same invitation goes out to you - if you need to chat / cry / vent please feel free to reach out to me, goodness knows we all need that sometimes!
I wish you both all the best and I hope and pray that we all find some light at the end of this dark tunnel!
Take care

Hi Steve
Thank you so much for your response, I will most certainly have a look at those forums, I appreciate the advice. I've already found some solace in speaking to a few people on this site and it has made me realise that I'm not alone and there are so many people going through the nightmare that is cancer - I'm sure the more I use this site and it's tools the more it will help.
Thank you for your kindness
