Just joined the group to share my experience of getting Bowel Cancer and the follow up treatment.
I had no symptoms at all of cancer but completed in mid January the general Bowel Cancer screening test. From finding small traces of blood in the sample the NHS Colorectal team here in Norfolk have been fantastic. All within 5 weeks of the test I had had a call recommending a Colonoscopy and biopsy which confirmed a tumour to CT Scan, blood tests to elective surgery took 5 weeks. A further 4 weeks post surgery I had a call to confirm Histology gave a general all clear so no Chemo or Radio therapy. Have 6 week post surgery check up next week and then on the 3 year screening program. This is the NHS system working at its excellent best and I know I have been very lucky in being diagnosed early and being generally fit which has helped post recovery.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm glad to read how well you're doing and how pleased you are with the treatment you've received from the NHS
As you know the community is divided up into different support groups and I can see that you've already joined the bowel cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others with the same type of cancer as you. When you feel ready to post there I'm sure the other members of that group would love to read about your experiences.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Hi ,I'm new here not diagnosed yet with any thing however I've been losing a lot of weight 13kg since November, my gp did the fecal test last week test came back positive for small trace of blood hospital phoned Monday, to confirm I need to swallow the small camera next week ,I'm trying not to think the worse but it's hard not to.
Hi and welcome to the online community
Waiting for tests and then the results of tests is very hard. My best advice would be to stay away from google and to try and fill your time doing things that you enjoy to keep your mind wandering to the 'what ifs'.
As you have joined in this conversation about bowel cancer I assume that this is what you're worried that you might have. If that's the case can I recommend that you join the bowel cancer group where you'll have the opportunity of talking to others who are in the same position as you or who can share their experiences with you.
If this is something that you'd like to do clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can then join and start a new post.
I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that whatever is causing your problems is benign.
