I feel a but of a fraud as not been diagnosed. However, this afternoon I haven been told I am being referred for an urgent appointment as I have suspected gynaecological cancer. I am well aware this could be something completely different and not cancer but I’m scared. I haven’t got any support so I just needed a space to express my fears. I hope this is allowed?!
Hi,
Firstly I hope you are ok.
Waiting for these tests and results is incredibly hard and stressful. Please try and not let it control your life and easy to say but try not to overthink it. Getting those results whatever they may be will give you knowledge and power to move to the next step. One day at a time and hopefully it will be something that is easily treated and you can own how you move forward.
Take care and go easy on yourself.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It all seems a bit surreal. One day at a time is definitely what I’ll try to do. Thank you again xx
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
You are certainly not a fraud to be here without a diagnosis. There are lots of people in the different support groups who are at the same stage as you but they find that it's a great comfort to be able to discuss their fears and ask questions of others in a similar position or who have already been through it and are now out the other side.
The online community is divided up into different support groups and as you haven't mentioned which type of gynaecological cancer you are being investigated for you could have a look through this list. Once you have found the right group for you just click on the link and then join and post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
Alternatively if you are happy to let me know which gynaecological cancer you are suspected of having I can give you a direct link to the appropriate group.
It would be great if you could pop something about what tests, etc you've had so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Hi, thank you so much for your reply, sorry I didn’t reply sooner it’s been a tough week.
would it be ok to accept your help to navigate to the relevant group? The cancer that is suspected is Ovarian cancer.
I updated my profile and will keep adding more. Thank you for the advice on that. X
I'm sorry to hear you've had a tough week . How are you feeling today?
Here's the link to the ovarian cancer group which I'm sure you'll find is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. Clicking on the bold, green writing will take you to the group where you can then join and start a new post in the same way as you did here. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.
