Hi,
I am awaiting diagostic tests following some lesions found in my liver. I also have a lump in my thigh which will be investigated ,although im petrified I have sarcoma which has spread to the liver. All the symptoms seem to match up,and within the last few days the dull sensation in the area seems to be appearing in other parts of my leg.
Am very scared. I am a single mum and my child will not cope without me. Ive been crying daily and still have to be diagnosed, athough I cant help fearing the worst. I know my body and everything points to the fears that I have regarding my leg and I feel that if this has caused he liver issues then a lot of stories ive read regarding thos type of mets seem to poin to a short prognosis.
Im sorry if this message has affected anyone going through a similar area of cancer .Im in complete turmoil at the moment.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community although I am so sorry to hear about your ongoing diagnosis.
Having unexplained health issues can be a very stressful and challenging time for you but I do hope you find the community a safe place to get support and ask your questions.
The New to Community is like our reception desk where you can be signpost to our various cancer support groups and other services.
Talking to people face to face when on a cancer journey (patient or family) can be very helpful but during these strange times it’s not that available but do check to see if any Local Macmillan Support in your area has opened up. Do also check out for a local Maggie's Centre in your area as these folks are amazing and provide support for all the family.
The Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 or via Webchat and Email too. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear. You may also find our Cancer Nurse Specialists in our Ask an Expert section helpful but do allow a few working days for a reply.
Should you get a cancer diagnosis do look through this list where you will find all our many dedicated cancer support groups listed. These are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.
Always around if you need further help in navigating the community.
All the very best ((hugs))
Hi Lou.M,
I am so sorry to hear you are going through a very tough and uncertain time. I cannot imaging what you are going through (my husband has secondary cancer) I am a carer not someone who is going through it (I know I am but not from a patient point of view). I am also new to this Online Community myself. All I can say is all the emotions you are feeling and going through are normal. There are no right or wrong feelings. We have good and bad days. We have hope and despair. Remember you are not alone.
I find just knowing we are not alone in this horrible time a big help. I hope you are able to find support in this Online Community.
Best wishes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
