Hi
I found a lump in my breast just before Christmas, it was still there in January so saw my GP who did a referral to the breast unit at my local hospital. I've waited 8 weeks to be seen, my appointment is on Tuesday. Meanwhile I had a huge lump come up by my collarbone, nurse at GPs said it was a pulled muscle. I went back 2 weeks later as it was much bigger and very painful, i couldn't swallow without pain and I have a pressure behind my eye. Saw DR, she sent me straight to A&E. I saw an ENT dr who put a camera up my nose into my throat. He said I needed an urgent CT scan, current wait 2 weeks. Suddenly in the post I got an appointment for an aspiration by ultrasound for next week. Im trying to put on a brave face for everyone but the waiting is so hard.

From your description this could be a number of things so best not jump to any conclusions. Once you have a clear diagnosis you can search through our many cancer support group in this list. All the very best ((hugs))
So, I had my mammogram and saw the breast constant. He was happy that there was nothing sinister. Relief! However, he commented on my neck lumps and said he was pleased I had a scan soon as they need looking at asap. The next day I had a call to bring my CT scan forward a week to this Friday. I'm really worried now
I have been on my incurable blood cancer journey for over 22 years and one thing I have noticed is how reactive our Lymphatic System is with lumps and bumps coming and going. It's good that this is being checked over and lets hope it's nothing to be concerned about.
I had a brick sized mass in my neck in late 2013 and had a range of treatments and all is ok.... but a lump appeared on the opposite side from where my mass had been a year later. It could have been my Lymphoma returning but it wa checked out and turned out to be a fatty mass that was not an issue.
Lets see what your CT says and take it from there.
Remember the Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00 or via Webchat and Email too where you can get emotional support or just a listening ear.
((hugs))
Thankyou for your positivity. I had no idea you could live with a cancer diagnosis for so long. ️
At one point I was stage 4a and zi know folks who have been on their road even longer.
Things have moved on and cancer survival has doubled since the 70s - there is lots of hope.
Even in the past 6 years, for my rare type of cancer new treatments have been developed that were not available back in late 2013 when I was told “Mike this treatment is our last throw of the dice”….. now I have a fall back if and when it returns…… I will continue to live a life that is not defined by the “what if’s?”…… but I will continue to define how I live this hard fought for life.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
