  • Hi, not sure where to start really. On 11th January my Dad (53 years old) was diagnosed with choroidal melanoma, less than 3 weeks later he had the eye removed as the best course of treatment. He then found out on 1st February he had liver metastases which is Stage 4, he found out last week he has 9-12 months without treatment and up to 2 years with treatment. Treatment I believe is immuno-therapy which he starts next month. It was a massive shock to us all as he has no symptoms of having anything wrong with his liver at all. Just wondering if anyone has any information or personal experiences of going through this at all. Just as a family we are lost. Thanks in advance.
  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is an informative and supportive place.

I'm really sorry to read that your dad has been diagnosed with choroidal melanoma which has spread to his liver and it's natural to feel as you do.

I can see that you've already found and joined the eye cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from people with a similar diagnosis.

When you feel ready to post there clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your dad's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
