Hi, I’ve just been diagnosed with breast cancer, oh the emotions you go through is second to none. Still working at the moment, trying to act normal, not sure how much longer I can keep the pretence up, just feel like screaming. Waiting to hear when I can have lumpectomy, hopefully soon, need to get this out.
thinking of you all on your own journeys
Take care
Hi Lilac moon and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is an informative and supportive place.
I'm really sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with breast cancer and although I had a different type of cancer I recognise those feelings of wanting to get treatment started.
I can see that you've already found and joined the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
When you feel ready to post there clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
x
Lilac moon the emotions are certainly a full on rollercoaster. I found continuing to work as much as i could and for as long as I could helped retain some normality whilst i was dealing with the diagnosis and the information and fears. If you feel like screaming I would say good right ahead it may well help to release that build up of tension. Maybe not in a crowded place! Hope you hear soon about your lumpectomy so you can move forward in getting it out and I think once you have a date for this you will feel like you have started to tackle this and fight back. Good luck with your journey.
Thank you so much, yes I think once I have a date I’ll feel much better
