Not sure how to start to be honest. My amazing Dad, was healthy until he was in hospital with covid to then be told he has terminal cancer. (Devestated).

He had undertaken a new Trial drug which has given us extra time with him. But now the cancer has spread so nothing more can be done but to keep him comfortable.

Days are passing by and are becoming harder - i get knots in my stomach and anxious, worry. I am strong and never show my weakness to anyone and my mum needs me more then ever to be like that.

Every day is precious and we get through the good and bad days, never mind trying to understand all the medication.

I am a person who concentrates on being positive but i cant lie Positivity in this situation is now impossible, which is probably why im writing this post.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I'm sure you'll find is an informative and supportive place.

I'm really sorry to read about your dad's recent diagnosis and I know what a difficult time this will br for the whole family.

As the community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the supporting someone with incurable cancer group which is a safe and supportive place to connect with friends and families of people with a terminal diagnosis. You can discuss your emotions about the prospect of losing your dad as well as discuss practical issues about palliative care.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
