Hi Destiny and a warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your husbands Lymphoma diagnosis.
I am Mike Thehighlander and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare incurable Low Grade Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so have been on this journey rather a long time and know it well.
The diagnosis of Lymphoma can be long and drawn out so waiting is normal but it’s the nature of this type of cancer as most are slow growing and it is very important to get a clear diagnosis….. it took a year, two CT scan and 6 biopsies to find my exact type.
There are over 60 types and subtypes of Lymphoma!!!!! so this makes it complicated.
We have a number of support groups but can’t have a group for every type but these are our main Lymphoma groups below.
General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma
These groups are safe places to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions, get support and talk with others who are supporting family and friends on their journey.
If you'd like to connect in with a group click on the Green link I have created above. Then once the page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New or + (Depending on the device you are using). You will then see a dropdown menu so hit ‘Chat’or ‘New here, say hello’ and you are ready to go.
You could copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also search through existing ‘Discussions’ and click [reply] if you want to put up a comment.
I will keep an eye open for you in the groups where I can help you unpack this more ((hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
