Hi All,
Its taken me a while to look this cancer in the face, but reading through entry after entry on here, I can see it is time to take control of my fears and start to be part of my own solution by sharing and shouldering. I'm not sure I'll be brave or scintillating about it, but then none of us would be in this rickety boat by choice, would we?
I found a pucker on the dark side of my right breast back in Sept 21, thought it was a crease caused by a new bra; 3 weeks later it was still there so I saw the GP triage nurse, who referred me, and a month later in Nov I saw my lovely consultant at the same time as mammogram & u/s. Neither she, nor triage had been able to feel any mass, but the scans revealed it. I felt so fortunate to have been caught.
Two surgeries on, and I'm in that no man's land waiting to find out if I'm going to need a third, or something else. Waiting is the pits, isn't it? But it's giving me healing time, and adjustment time to seek the company of others who 'get it'.
So far, I've ignored sensible advice not to dive into Dr G, and tbh it wasn't helpful; there is very little coming up about invasive breast cancer in the inframammary fold. So here I am, sitting in front of my phone & wondering where this introduction will lead me & you, and my daughter when she finds the link I'll leave her.
All I can say is thank goodness for the check your lemons campaign, our wonderful nhs, the kindness of strangers and the tenacity of Macmillan who have picked me up & prodded me in all the right directions.
If you've found me here, it's nice to nearly meet you & I'm crushed it's under these circumstances; one day at a time, together.
Hi This2willPass and a very warm welcome to the online community
There's no easy way to deal with a cancer diagnosis but I hope you'll find the community an informative and supportive place. As it's divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Thank you so much Latchbrook, the first step in here is a big one. I'm borrowing your bio format - you made it an easy read at a time when reading seems to be quite tricky. Thank you for your welcome, it's nice to know you're there. Here goes! x
I know what a big step it is to join. I think I lurked for several weeks before taking the plunge.
The people over in the beast cancer group are very friendly and I'm sure you'll soon find yourself settling in.
