My father has terminal cancer. Stated in his bladder then spread to his kidney and now in all of his lymph nodes. Might be able to have radiotherapy, but he has not got much weight now. Any help or advice would be appreciated.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is an informative and supportive place.

As it's divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the bladder cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences about this type of cancer and it's treatment, and also the supporting someone with incurable cancer group which is for anyone who has a loved one with a terminal diagnosis to discuss their emotions as well as practical issues.

To join just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your dad's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Hi Crockett I've just joined this community. My dad is in the very same situation as your dad. My dad had bladder several years ago. Had been in remission for a few years. And in the last few months we have found out that his cancer has returned when he found a lump in his groin. Its now terminal and its spread. Its in the tubes where his bladder would be and also in his spine and one of his kidneys. He's not got much appetite and has lost a lot of weight and muscle tone x
