New on here, though had lymphoma and 3 lots in large bowel. Had 3 rounds chemotherapy so far. Hello everyone, I'm also double transplant patient. X
Hi and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us but sorry to hear about your Lymphoma journey.
I am Mike Thehighlander and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so have been on this journey rather a long time...... and am also a double Stem Cell Transplant Veteran
There are over 60 types and subtypes of Lymphoma so we can’t have a group for every type but these are our main Lymphoma groups below:
General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma
.......... and our dedicated Stem cell transplant group
If you'd like to connect in with a group, you do need to join the group. Click on the Green link I have created above. Then once the page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New (Computers) or + (Mobile Devices). You will then see a dropdown menu so hit ‘Chat’ or ‘Start a Discussion in New here, say hello’ and you are ready to go.
You can also search through existing ‘Discussions’ and click [reply] if you want to put up a comment.
I will keep an eye open for you but if you are not sure get back to me on this post and I will help you out further.
Thank you, I joined one group but then didn't know how to find your message on this site,so found your email in my emails luckily. I can only remember I have large ? Cell lymphoma, which one I have no idea. I'm assuming you also are immune Suppressed, same as me. My transplants happened a year after diabetic total organ failure and told after almost month in coma they didn't expect me to live. 10 yrs later got told I had something seriously wrong a week before Christmas 2 years ago. I live alone and went into shock. Thank you for your message , your journey is long and hard and you are so so brave and well done for dealing with it in your own special way. X
Hi again. if you want to find any posts you have put up along with any replies you hit 'your' Community Name and look for 'activity' and this will bring up all your past posts. You should also get email notifications when someone replies to any post.
Does Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma sound like it.....you should find this information on some of your clinical letters etc. You have had a rough time but I am glad that you are still standing and good that you have found the Community.
i am over 6 years out from my second Allo Stem Cell Transplant (Oct 2015) so well down the road and yes, my bloods have never actually recovered to 'normal' levels with them sitting near the lower end of acceptable...... but this has not stopped me living a normal-ish life including during these coves times.
My journey has been long and complicated but you can hit my Community name to see my story.
Do connect in with the various support groups as you will get lots of support.
Always around to chat.
Thank you, I need to find one of thousands letters (like a lot of us) and join whichever large cell I have, only seen it on one letter though! Got lots other conditions which pushed up travel insurance anyway. Consultant won't let me travel yet so I'm just doing what I can in preparation, I do panic a bit at everything though! Think I found profile by playing around with site, could be easier to find, but hoping I get hang of this. When got divorced as ex said he signed up to be husband not carer, though when I walked into the house when he wasn't expecting me,I found another woman in there, which said it all. I had severe mental breakdown, after 25 years together,I thought it would last. But got house alone, then moved 3 times in 3 years as couldn't settle. Now can't afford to move again so stuck where I am now. Love for dream of seeing friends abroad again keeps me going.
Take care, thanks for being there for me at the start and have a lovely weekend with your family xxxx pat
