Hi I've had my breast cancer diagnosis today and its alot to take in. I don't really know what to think and how to feel about all this. And what I can share and what I shouldn't share on here.
Does anyone else feel like this?
Hi SteffW and welcome to the community. It always is a lot to take in so as questions occur to you write them down so you can ask your medical team.
You can share as much or as little as you want on here as it's all anonymous.
You will get many more replies if you post on the Breast Cancer forum as that tends to be very active throughout the day and often someone is on there through late at night. Here is the link to go straight there CLICK HERE
You'll probably find reading other peoples posts helpful and often comforting. Breast cancer is very treatable these days with very high success rates. The news obviously tends to report the bad outcomes which makes it seem like those outweigh the positive, but they don't.
If you want you can start by telling us a little bit about what you know about your cancer and your treatment plan if you have been given one yet. Also ask any questions you have and if anyone knows the answer you will likely get a response.
Don't despair as for the majority of us the outcome is positive and the treatment process is doable and not as bad as we tend to imagine.
I was petrified when I was first diagnosed and this forum really helped me get through that.
