Following an MRI scan under the pathway ( referral from the Doctor as PSA had increased ( only 3.6 but 50% up on the previous result) have been booked in for a local anaesthetic transperineal biopsy as they found an 'abnormality' Have researched the biopsy on Cancer research website so I have a better idea of what's to come and the after effects. The wait for the results will no doubt be the difficult bit
Is there any other preparation or research I should undertake ?
Hi and welcome to the online community
Waiting for tests and then results is definitely a horrible time but you've joined the right community to provide you with support.
You haven't said which cancer you're being investigated for but I'm going to guess that it might be prostate as you mentioned PSA. If this guess is correct could I recommend that you join the prostate cancer group which is a good place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. If I'm wrong then please take a look through this list and join whichever group is the right one for you.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help
