Hi, my sister has recently been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumers in the liver. She has been told she has maybe got 5-10 years. She has 2 and 4 year old little girls.  I'm dealing with this news as best as I can but I would like to know how else to support her and I think my mum is needing support too. She is getting very angry and impatient with my sister and the girls but also getting very upset and irrational. I am trying to kepp everything together. I've moved out of my home to let my sister and the girls stay there. She is struggling with accomodation as the property she has is making her very anxious and her neighbours are awful. I just want to get her someplace nice for her last years and rhee is nothing out there. She is in my 1 bed flat now with is not ideal but nearer to family for help. I'm not sure what help is available but hoping someone here might have some ideas? I know I'm asking a lot.

Anyway thanks for reading and have a wonderful Christmas. My mulled wine is calling me.

Merry Christmas Christmas treeSanta

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read about your sister's recent cancer diagnosis and I know what a difficult time this will be for the whole family.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join and post in the family and friends group which is a great place to chat to others who have family members with cancer and who can tell you how they've provided support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your sister's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help

Thank you so much. I knew there would be someplace I could go, just wasn't sure where. I will look again after Christmas. Thank you
