Hi group,
I was diagnosed with Breast cancer on the 24th of November - it didn't appear to have spread to the lymph nodes. Met with the Breast Surgeon on the 30th was told it was Stage 1 Grade 2 ER/PR Strong HER2 negative, I am 59 years old and post menopausal, we agreed to a lumpectomy with radiation, 5 days a week for 5 weeks, no Chemo and then 5 years of hormone meds. the tumor was just under 2 cm (so the size of a U.S. quarter) I just received on my portal the final path report and it said Grade 3 and the doctor is out for the holidays and will not respond till next week. Surgery is not planned until January 11th. I am now worried that with the long wait for the surgery and it being a Grade 3 that they will get in there and find something unexpected, this has happened to me before with a fibroid tumor when I was 24. I am also having a breast reduction, so that way they can take out more surrounding tissue. I am making myself sick with worry.
Hi Holi and welcome to the Online Community although so sorry to hear about your diagnosis, this is such a hard time for you but I do hope you will find lots of comfort and support here on the Online Community.
The New to Community area is like our reception where we can signpost our many dedicated support groups and services so can I recommend you start by joining our Breast cancer group. This is a safe place to talk to other people who may have a similar diagnosis or treatment experiences.
If you'd like to connect in with a group, you need to join the group. First click on the Green link I have created above. Then once the page opens click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘new post’ by clicking in the box near the top right with + New (Computers) or + (Mobile Devices). You will then see a dropdown menu so hit ‘Start a Discussion in New here, say hello’ and you are ready to go.
You could copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also search through existing ‘Discussions’ and click [reply] if you want to put up a comment.
