My husband Pete Was diagnosed 1st may 21 with diffuse large B Cell lymphoma & also with spinal cord compression. He finished his course of Rchop & Rice chemotherapy end of September 21 & had various setbacks with infections etc requiring hospital admissions,he was suffering as well with chronic back pain up until two weeks ago when his spine actually fractured at the 11 vertebrae which resulted in augmentative fixation & verteblasty, a very complex sentence for what is actually cementing the bone & fastening the rest with metal.he was discharged two weeks ago to recover at home but unfortunately was readmitted as an emergency Saturday morning with a pulmonary embolism. He’s home again now & has actually just now  for the first time since his diagnosis  broken down & said he’s so tired & needs someone outside of the family to talk to , he feels utterly spent & lost & admits also afraid. He knows he can talk to me but he says he wants to talk to someone who doesn’t know him but who really understands how he feels because they’re going through a similar situation themselves.

so if anyone out there can help or steer us in the right direction it would be appreciated.Thankyou & keep safe & stay strong everyone xx

  • Hi , I am Mike and I am dropping in past from our Lymphoma Groups. So sorry to hear the journey your husband is on and I can totally understand his need to talk with others..... I have been on my journey for over 22 years so understand.

We do have our Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma where you talk with others who have been on the journey.

Do check out Lymphoma Action, a small but very active UK Lymphoma Specific Charity who have lots of good information, videos and run regular regional online Lymphoma support groups and indeed a very great Lymphoma Buddy Service where he can be matched up with buddy who has been on the same journey, they also have a Lymphoma Specific help line

The Macmillan Support Services on 0808 808 00 00 - most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week Clicking here to see what is available. This service provides lots of cancer information, emotional support, benefit and financial guidance or just a listening ear. You may also find our Ask an Expert section helpful as well.

Talking to people face to face can indeed help a lot but during these strange times it’s not that available but do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area has opened up. Do also check out for a local Maggie's Centre in your area.

Always around if you need further help in navigating the community.

    All the very best ((hugs))
