Hi All
My name is Carol, I am 57 years old and diagnosed on Thursday with secondary breast cancer. I had stage 3 breast cancer in December 2008, had a lumpectomy chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Had a gastric bypass in July 2021 and ended up in hospital as couldn’t swallow food. MRI, CT scans and an endoscopy found ulcers at the opening of my new stomach. Which is being treated with medication. Due to the tests found out I now have secondary breast cancer in my bones, lower back and pelvis and also lump in my armpit and also abnormalities found when they did the endoscopy which I am still waiting for biopsy results. The lump under my arm I am awaiting a biopsy. Been told there is no cure for the bone cancer but can be treated. Until they know the results from other 2 lumps not sure what happens next.
Hi Cazlove2004 and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with secondary breast cancer and this must have come as a tremendous shock to you.
I can see that you've joined the secondary bone cancer group and hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post in the secondary breast cancer group. Both these groups are great places to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
If you'd like to join the secondary breast cancer group clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can join in the same way as you did the secondary bone cancer group. Once you've joined you can then start a new post in the same way as you did here and respond to any exiting posts by clicking on 'reply.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi Cazlove,
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis of secondaries and 13 years since first diagnosis. Waiting for results is the worst. I was diagnosed back in 2011, once plan was in place I felt I was back in control. I am currently on a waiting game again also! Mind working overtime.
Hope you don’t have too long to wait. I find this forum helps me so much, reading other posts makes you realise you are not alone.
Ann
