Hi all, I am new to this, but already feeling cheered by having found this online community. I am 62, and very recently diagnosed with malignant melanoma. Everything has happened so quickly, I noticed a change in a freckle on my leg, that I have had for years, sent photo to doctor and within 6 days had hospital appt thro. They cut it out there and then, and I am now waiting for a further op on my shin and a skin graft, which terrifies me. Daytimes are ok, but I seem to lose it at night when everyone else is asleep. Part of me hopes that you are all asleep now, but a little bit of me selfishly hopes that someone else is there. For those of you in the land of nod, sweet dreams!
Hi it is so good that you are finding the Community so helpful and I see you have been posting in our supportive Melanoma group, this is the best place to talk with others walking in the same type of cancer journey.
The New to Community is like the Community Reception Desk but as you look further into the Community you will find other areas to connect in with so do have a look at our various Cancer experience groups and see if a group catches your eye.
Wishing you well on your treatment journey ((hugs))
