I’m due to start a 6 week course of Mitomycin for non-invasive bladder cancer and would love to hear from others who have been down this route and how it may have affected them through the six weeks.  The treatment goes through the run-up to Christmas and Christmas itself, when I’m due to be having family and grandchildren coming to stay, and I’m a bit concerned about how I’ll feel.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that you've been diagnosed with bladder cancer and it's natural to wonder how the treatment will affect you.

As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the bladder cancer group which is a great place to ask your question, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.

Hi Latchbrook, I’m struggling to find the link you suggest I should click in order to join the right group. It’s probably my fault, I’m not the most high-tech of people!

  • No problem . The link is the dark green wording 'bladder cancer group'.
