Hi
I came here as I feel I am dying in my bed. Just want to say hi as I do not have anyone to say it. If it was not for my religious beliefs I would have gone for assisted suicide but I would still be afraid of the unknown. I do not believe that I reached this stage given that I identified my symptoms early. I am getting frustrated, anxious, want to hit my head on the wall. I am 59 not young but not very old either. I have a young son who has such a tender soul and needs me but what can I do.
Just came here for some sympathy, nowhere else to turn.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community but I am so sorry to hear about your cancer diagnosis. A cancer journey is challenging in many ways but I do hope you will find lots of comfort and support here on the Online Community.
The Online Community is divided up into different support groups so if you want to tell me what type of cancer you are being treated for I can give you a direct link to that group.
Alternatively you can look through this list and choose the appropriate one for your cancer type. These groups are safe places to talk to other people who might have a similar diagnosis or treatment experience.
If you'd like to connect into a group, you need to join the group. First click on the Green link I have created above, have a look through the list then when you find the group click on the black banner that says [click to join] at the bottom, or the [Join] button under "Group tools."
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a new post by clicking in the box near the top right with + New (Computers) or + (Mobile Devices). You will then see a dropdown menu so why not hit ‘Start a Discussion in New here, say hello’
You could copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also search through existing ‘Discussions’ and click [reply] if you want to put up a comment.
We also have various support groups covering ‘living life’ along with our cancer so you may also be interested in our Religion, spirituality and prayer group where people of faith support each other.
It’s always good to talk so do call the Macmillan Support Services on 0808 808 00 00 - most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week Clicking here to see what is available. To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers check our Online Information and Support Section.
Always around if you need further help in navigating the community.
All the very best ((hugs))
