Hi
4 weeks ago after being in hospital with an infection, following a routine scan and MRI i was told that they revealed liver metastases. Since then I have had a liver biopsy and a PET scan, and the MDT team have requested that I have another biopsy and blood tests.
I am anxious because nobody is telling me anything since the big reveal in hospital. Surly they should have done the biopsies first and then told me the results. I keep on going between what happens next to they got it wrong as how can they not get an accurate result from the biopsy it is either benign or malignant.
Hoping that somebody has gone through the same thing and let me know if this is normal.
Thanks

Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that a routine scan has revealed a spread to your liver and it must be an incredibly anxious time waiting for results and knowing what treatment you'll be having.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so can I recommend that you join the secondary liver cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join these just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
You might also find it useful to join whichever group your primary cancer is and you could look through this list to choose the appropriate one.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
