Hi,
I am new to this kind of thing (internet forums), but it seems the place to get relevant advice.
I had my left kidney removed 10 days ago by keyhole, prior to that as others can testify, my life was imploding with such negativity....
I consider my self very lucky to have the operation so quick after walking into the doctors with sore testicles, thinking I may have a lump down there....
Now I feel amazing. lots of energy, life seems interesting again and off the pain killers.
I also found that when someone asks why I am off work, I don't mention the C word any more. I could almost see the pity & loss in their eyes when I did.
The big question..... Am I going to crash?
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm glad to read how well you're feeling and you're right that you should find lots of help and information within our community.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the kidney cancer group which I'm sure you'll find is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support from others with the same diagnosis.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop a little something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
