Hi all

Im new to this group as my mum has just be diagnosed with non Small cell lung cancer, adenocarcinoma. Which is all very scary and sad, but the doctors have been amazing so far and are positive for a treatment plan to try and keep it at bay or reduce it. Primary is very small in her lung and secondary in her hip pelvis traveled through blood.

We’re still awaiting a few more test but it’s more than likely she will have chemo and immunotherapy. We’re London based and have an appointment at the Marsden to discuss the Saron trial. I can’t find a huge amount of discussion about it in the forums. Is anyone currently taking part? It would be useful to know your experience and thoughts if you’re happy to share.

Thank you so much xx

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read that your mum has recently been diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to her bones and I know what a worrying time this will be for the whole family.

I can see that you've already joined the lung cancer group which is a great place to ask questions and shares experiences around treatment.

When you're ready to post in the group just click on the link I've created and you could copy and paste your post from here into a new post there. You can also join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you might also benefit from joining the family and friends group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries and emotions with others who have a member of their family or a friend living with cancer. If you'd like to join that group then clicking on the link I:ve created will take you straight there where you can join in the same way as you did the lung cancer group.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any problems navigating the community I'd be pleased to help.
