I have been prescribed Rucaparib as a maintenance drug after undergoing two cycles of six chemotherapy sessions. I have not been coping well with the side effects and so the dose has already been reduced but this reduction has not helped greatly. The tablet was stopped the first time round due to low platelet levels but this time round it is affecting my liver function levels which are too high and so it is likely that the tablet will be stopped again until the levels recover. The side effects have been variously sickness, diarrhoea, everything tasting nasty and extreme fatigue and breathlessness. How have other peoples experiences of taking Rucaparib or Niraparib the alternative been? I suspect this is a common experience but would like to know how others have coped.
