I just diagnose with grade 1 breast cancer. i have done my operation and waiting for radiotherapy. i am ashamed to tell my friends that i got cancer because of the way African people perceived cancer. some of them think is contagious and some believe you will die in a couple of months and begin to isolate you and treat you as dead person. I think joining this forum will give me the opportunity to get necessary help and support.
Hi it's awful that you have been made to feel ashamed to tell your friends. 1 in 2 of us are said to get cancer in our lifetimes so I wonder how many of your friends have had cancer themselves but have also been ashamed to say anything.
You will find lots of support on here. You shold also have a look at the main Breast cancer forum and maybe post there as well as it's very active. CLICK HERE and it will take you straight there.
It's great news it was only grade 1 and that your operation has been done which should mean you are cancer free now.
Wishing you all the best.
GodWilling Thanks so much. I feel welcome on this platform
Hello I joined on here today. It's a crazy time the first few weeks of diagnosis. I have been able too tell some friends and family. Its really not your fault, not mine either. I have triple negative breast cancer. It is not hormone related. Be proud you sought help and didn't suffer in silence. Good luck x
